Does the cyclist need the native app?
Yes for reliable background ride recording. The browser is for planning, managing the journey, and following.
Will it update with no cellular signal?
No live service can send phone data through a network that is not there. The phone can continue recording locally and synchronise later.
Can I stop or replace the link?
Yes. Stop sharing, rotate the link if it travelled too far, or protect it with a passcode.
Should my family use this for rescue decisions?
No. A stale location can have ordinary causes such as signal, battery, or device failure. Agree on a proper emergency plan for the route.
